The Tale of Nokdu

Tale of Nokdu is set in the Joseon era and it revolves around a young man named Nok Du (Jang Dong Yoon) who lived a sheltered life on a remote island. He ends up chasing down a female assassin right into a Widow’s Village. Nok Du is left with no other choice but to dress up as a widow in order to enter this women’s only village in order to get to the truth about his birth. Along the way, he befriends a young kisaeng trainee named Dong Dong Joo (Kim So Hyun). Eventually, Nok Du ends up finding out the truth behind the attack on his family, and discovers secrets that changed his life forever.

While up till now there is a glut of zombie shows both good and bad, there isn’t that many Korean zombie shows around, especially one set in the medieval Joseon period. The pacing of Kingdom has it’s slow moments but increasingly suspenseful and thrilling, keeping you at the edge of the seat.
