8 K-Dramas That Starred Business Proposal’s Seol In Nah

Fresh-faced Seol In Ah has invaded our hearts in the recently concluded, Business Proposal, but did you know that the young actress has been around the industry for quite a while now? She made her acting debut in a minor role in the 2015 TV drama, “Producer.”  She later on accepted hosting gigs which spanned a good two years and starred in some films.

So, if you’re a new fan eager to look for more K-dramas that involved the 26-year-old beauty, here are eight projects that she has starred in!

Sunny Again Tomorrow (2018)

In 2018, Seol In Ah received her first major acting role in “Sunny Again Tomorrow.” For this drama, she played the role of Kang Ha Nee, a young and driven high school graduate who had to juggle different part-time jobs. Getting fired from K1 Home Shopping was the push she needed to establish her own fashion company even without a single knowledge about fashion. She also becomes involved with Lee Han Kyul, a merchandiser for the TV home shopping channel.

Seol In Ah’s performance in this drama created a lot of buzz as people took notice of the young actress’s talent. She even nabbed the Best New Actress Award in the 2018 KBS Drama Awards and was also nominated for the same role at the 2019 Baeksand Arts Awards. For this project, she starred alongside actors Ha Seung Ri, Jin Ju Hyung, Lee Chang Wook, Baek Seung Hee, and more.

Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life (2019)

Following “Sunny Again Tomorrow,” Seol In Ah starred in another KBS2 series, which is the romance drama, “Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life.” It follows the lives of four different people who are riding out the struggles of life trying to be something but failing to do so. Later on, they realized that the search for love and happiness is significantly harder. It is for this reason that Kim Seol Ah (Seol In Ah) decided to focus on a career, rather than waste time and energy on relationships that usually end in disaster.

As a woman with a thriving career, Seol Ah seems to have it all together on the outside, but deep inside, she still longed for that one thing that will make her truly happy. Behind her tough exterior and positive energy, she hides unspeakable pain. Her dad dislikes her, and she has always longed for his love and acceptance, which seems so hard to earn.

Even for a rom-com drama, the story resonates because don’t we also have those desires that seem ever so elusive. But sometimes life can be kind and it rewards us when we least expect it!

Mr Queen (2020)

“Mr Queen” was considered one of the most well-received dramas of 2020. It’s a fantasy-historical drama where an arrogant chef’s soul was magically transported to the past into the body of the future queen of the Joseon dynasty. Shin Hye Sun stars as Kim So Young, the embattled queen of King Cheoljong (Kim Jung Hyun).

Seol In Ah played the role of a royal concubine who is head over heels in love with King Cheojong. She was also his first love. This leaves the future queen in a tricky position. But this drama is far from intense as it is sprinkled with a lot of comical and emotional elements that make it widely entertaining.

While Seol In Ah’s character seems reserved she also held up her own against Shin Hye Sun’s Kim So Yong. She also displayed remarkable chemistry with Kim Jung Hyun, with whom she has worked in “School 2017.”

School 2017 (2017)

In this drama, a class of high school students wanted to veer away from the pressures of the steep ranking system of their exam grades. This on top of the mounting pressures of being a teenager and the corrupt school system is already taking a toll on them.

“School 2017” is actually the first drama that brought Seol In Ah and Kim Se Jeong together before they played the quirky best friends in “Business Proposal.” For this series, In Ah played the role of Hong Nam Joo, the girlfriend of the student body president who pretends to be from a rich family because she’s too ashamed to admit that her father is a taxi driver. Her family’s financial struggles have always stressed her out, so she gets by pretending to be loaded.

Business Proposal (2022)

Fastforward to five years later, Seol In Ah and Kim Seo Jeong are reunited as friends, Jin Yeon Seo and Shin Ha Ri. More than just your typical best buddies, they are also “partners-in-crime.”

Seol In Ah played Jin Young Seo, Ha Ri’s best friend and the only daughter of the CEO of a Marine Group. She grew up with all the comforts of life, but when she came of age, her father pushed her to go on blind dates with other chaebols. Unfortunately, she was never interested in these arrangements. So when she was set up with Kang Tae Moo, the CEO of Go Food, she begged Shin Ha Ri (Kim Seo Jeong) to stand in her place and pretend she’s Yeon Seo. This sets into motion a series of lies that gets the two best friends in hot water, but hilariously so.

If anything, this drama pushed In Ah’s name into a bigger audience. She was undeniably captivating onscreen even if she played the bestfriend. Many loved her aesthetic, her fashion sense, and the chemistry she had with Seo Jeong and Kim Min Kyu.

Record of Youth (2020)

The young actress also played a minor role in the 2020 youth-romance drama, “Record of Youth.” The series follows the lives of young people going for their dreams and trying to find love while juggling the struggles of the modelling world. Park Bo Gum headlines the drama as Sa Hye Jun, a model who is from a working-class family who also dreams of becoming a top actor. In Ah portrays Jung Ji Ah, Hye Jun’s ex-girlfriend. She revealed that she agreed to do a multiple appearances in the series because she has worked with the writer on a previous project.

Ji Ah is one of those who has scarred Hye Jun’s life, but as the story progressed we see how the characters eventually embraced healing and success.

Special Labor Inspector Jo (2019)

“Special Labor Inspector Jo” is a social satire drama about the underdogs of society. It follows Jo Jin Gap (Kim Dong Wook), a man who was part of the national judo team. He got kicked out of the team and lost his dream of becoming a physical education teacher due to his temper. Left without much of a choice, Jin Gap becomes a civil servant and worked as a labor inspector for the Ministry of Employment and Labor. But it was there that he came to meet people who wielded their power unjustly, pushing Jin Gap to revert to his old self.

For this drama, Seol In Ah transformed into Go Mal Sook, the personal secretary of Myeongseong Group’s chairperson. Overall, the drama is fun and charming, but at the same time, it also points out the irrationalities of the labour department.

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (2019)

Around this time, Seol In Ah was still building her filmography. If you’re a keen observer, you would have noticed that the young actress also starred in this megahit series, which starred Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik.

Seol In Ah played Jo Hee Ji, a cello player who also happens to be the girlfriend of Jisoo’s character. Fans have a hard time warming up to her character, but it only shows that she was effective in playing her role.
