How far will you go to be part of high society? Remarriage and Desires is a Netflix drama that follows the story of a woman who wants to marry a rich bachelor to be part of the rich crowd. This drama is a satire on the desires of Korea’s remarriage market within its upper class.
It all started at an exclusive matchmaking agency, Rex, where the moneyed members of society are catered to. Those who signed up for their service are those who desire to upgrade their social status by marrying into a rich family. They preferably want those listed under the “Black” tier, which is an elite group that consists of the 0.001 percent of the population.
The drama stars Kim Hee Sun as Seo Hye Seung, a typical upper-middle-class housewife in Gangnam. But if the poster and trailers are any indications, she’s a woman with a mission and she’d be ready to jump right into the high-end marriage business for revenge. Joining her is Lee Hyun Wook who plays the chairman of a venture capital firm, which makes him a “Black” tier member. He sought the help of Rex, to get over his failed marriage and to find love this time around.
