The Sound of Your Heart is based on a popular and long-running webtoon “Maeum-ui Sori” in Korea. Written by Jo Seok, it was arranged to be partly a biography of his own life, and the lead character is also named Jo Seok. 

Jo Seok initially struggles to find work with his comics. He then thought of using an autobiographical approach, often centering on his ridiculous family, which is much better received. He meets his future wife, Ae Bong at a friend’s wedding. Their awkward romance blossoms, which also becomes a frequent topic of Jo Seok’s comics. As he gains popularity, but never takes his fans for granted and he always keeps in mind that it was Ae Bong who inspired  his cartoons the most.
